When Bill Lawrence returns from the War he has a lot of settling in to do, including finding a job which suits him. It's not long, however, before he's back in he swing of things and we hear about the hidden strength of 'Home Made Wine', the folly of 'Careless Talk'. the ingenuity of 'The Funeral Fiddle', and the futility of 'The Flooded Cellar',. There are also the exploits with 'The Car' and how he and Sally first went to Spain in it, plus many more stories from Bill's life. Some sad - some funny - but always entertaining. Later we learn about his trip to Australia and the remote northwest Pilbara region where his daughter and family were living. A place he didn't initially like, but, at the age of 80 eventually emigrated to. This is an entertaining read with never a dull moment.
